STORYLINE

A compelling tale of survival, on the theme of radicalization, which documents the deception of naive and idealistic young women who go to Syria to find a husband among ISIS fighters. It is disturbing, moving, and reveals something truly gruesome, yet real. An all-female behind-the-scenes look that manages to capture with great subtlety the gray areas of the “banality of evil,” taking an extremely accurate and intimate look at a subject that is sensitive in the eyes of the West.
Rabia is a 2024 drama film directed by Mareike Engelhardt, inspired by real events. The film was presented at several festivals in 2024 (Angoulême, Rome, Cork) and received César Award nominations.
